Spring Cleaning Time – Don’t Forgot Pest Control

There are many questions surrounding pest control and termite inspections in regards to how often, best time of year and if the chemicals are toxic. These are just a few of the common questions, and we are here to clear them up with professional and expert advice on how to keep you on top of any unwanted pests in your home.

It’s important to keep on top of your pest and termite control as you don’t want to wake up with a spider, cockroach or worse still termite infestation. As once you have a pest infestation in your home it will take longer to get rid of them as well as at an increased cost compared to just your regular check-up and prevention pest control.

What time of year is best?

Spring and autumn are your best times to get your house sprayed for pests especially in the September/October months as this is the time when insects are active and getting ready to lay their eggs. It is a good idea not to spray in summer or the winter months as it could be too late by summer as you may already have an infestation and in winter the insects are hiding.

How often should I get my home checked?

Every 12 months you should be getting your home checked for termites as well as getting your house sprayed for pests. Spring is a great time to get your home checked while you are in spring cleaning mode and cleaning out your wardrobe. This way you will be easily able to identify each year when spring comes around to remind you to call your local pest control company.

Are the chemicals toxic to humans/babies?

The chemicals that Amac termite specialists use are not harmful to humans. All products are approved by the Commonwealth department of health and ageing and are fully approved for use in domestic and commercial situations.

Do you use different products for Termites?

Yes there has been studies and research undertaken specifically for termites and they have come up with a product called Termidor. Termidor has been exactly designed to withstand the harsh Australian climate. There are two main products; the Termidor Dust and Residual temiticide.
